Have you ever heard someone speak so harshly to their spouse that you flinched? Is that pleasing to God? While no marriage is perfect, it is a product of God and you should never stop working at it. Guess what? It is hard work, but oh so worth it. Remember, love is a choice. Don’t give up just because it gets hard and you are ready to chase the next thing. Marriage must be built on a firm foundation, and that foundation is God. When you both have a firm hold on who you are in Christ, then it becomes easier to build on that foundation in Christ together as a couple. Treat each other with respect in order to please God. The way you speak to your spouse is a reflection of your Witness, just like your behavior is your Witness. Now go love your spouse in a way that is pleasing to God.
