Step out of the boat.......

Have you ever just wanted to give up on being a Christian?  Have you ever thought it was too hard?  Face it, it is hard.  It is work, but we are all a work in progress, right?  When we make the decision to follow Christ, we must throw away our old ways, and the ways of the world.  That is hard!  However, the reward is so much great than we can ever imagine.  God sent His son to die on the cross for our sins.  How could we not want to follow Him in every aspect of our lives.  He loved us that much!

Now I get it, sometimes we get upset because we don’t know God’s plan and Will for our lives.  We don’t know His timeline either, and if you aren’t patient you can mess that up.

“As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.” Mark 1:16-21 NIV

Can you imagine?!?!  I’m sure we would probably want to know “where are we going?”, “how are we getting there?”  “when are we coming back?”.   It is hard not to question, but as I said we must be patient and trust Him with it all.  He knows best.  He offers us so much.  Just read His word and everything you need to know is right there for the taking.

Step out of that boat and follow Him with your whole heart.  What a peace it will bring!

What do you think?
