Are there any music lovers out there?
I love all types of music. I mean all types! I know some frown upon a “Jesus girl” listening to “secular” music, but I do a pretty good job of not letting lyrics have such a profound affect on me that I will lose my Christianity.
I mostly listen to Sirius/XM Radio. Want to know why? I can’t handle the music trends of today (except for Christian music). I am sorry people, but I think genre lines have been seriously blurred, and it is quite disappointing. I will try not to point fingers at any particular artist, but if I turn my radio to a country station…..I am not hearing country music. What is that? Pop-Country……ugh it is horrible. I have even been known to listen to a little bit of Hip Hop in my day, but the Hip Hop/Rap of today….I can’t understand it so forget it.
What happened to good ole’ fashioned Southern Rock? We must listen to the oldies…..and I am so thankful for Blackberry Smoke for keeping the genre alive. And let’s not forget The Allman Betts Band.
My husband is a big 80’s fan, so we listen to plenty of 80’s music. Besides, we must keep the Prince Era alive. LOL!
I can always count on my Christian music stations to never disappoint. Elevation Worship, Hillsong Worship, and Bethel Music are some of my favorites.
One thing is for sure, music can be as escape when we need it. If you’ve had a bad day, music will make it all better. Lose yourself in the music y’all.
